Jeong Jeong is my favorite character in Avatar thus far, and so I've trying to find out where exactly they've gotten his name from, and here is what I've found so far, and I'd like to point out that Jeong is a Korean word that can also be spelled Cheong.
I'm almost positive at this point it comes from a Korean word that essentially means "compassion" but has a lot of nuances that go with the language, and tends to hold the ideas that it's all encompassing and has no strings attached. It's a very nice word, and reminds me of something like "Namaste" or the "Tao" in Sanskrit and Chinese, respectivly, in all the nuances it has in it's native language and is lost when translated.
There are still a few other things that I've noticed could be reasons he's named what he is.
My favorite of the other possibilities is that when Yang is translated into a few other languages, sometimes it is known as Jeong. Yang is typically associated with the sun, masculinity, heaven, and a lot of other things.
