Ok, I think that I've figured out Iroh's name, and it was a bit harder than the others, but I gots it! Ok, first you need to break it down into the two syllables, "I" and "Roh". Let's look at the first syllable. "I" in chinese means both change and unchangable, and it's rather hard to explain, but just think of how Iroh is an amazing influence on the people around him, always changing it, but never actually changes himself. Even as a hardcore general, I bet he was still the same Iroh, at least mostly. In Japanese the word "Roh" means wolf. I think this is one of the best animals to consider for Iroh, and even more so when you think about it. At a shallow level, he kinda looks like a wolf, especially with his angular hair (his beard like woah). He also acts like a wolf in a lot of different ways. He's extremely intelligent, but even moreso than that he's cunning to an amazing extreme. Remember when he got captured? I think that was pretty cool. He also is lazy and doesn't do anything much if he doesn't see a need for it (wolves do that, they usually sleep for most of the day). He also likes the ladies, which is a quality often associated with wolves. There you go, the etymology of the name Iroh.
