OMG!!! OMG!!! OMG!!! OMG!!! OMG!!! OMG!!! OMG!!! OMG!!!
That was totally AWESOME!!!!!!!!!
We've figured out how Iroh's son died, what happened to Zuko's mother and why Iroh wasn't Fire Lord though he is obviously older. Plus we've now seen more of Ozai than we have before.
That ungrateful earth boy.....Zuko totally saved his ass and he was just totally an ungrateful brat about it.....I mean seriously, he may be the firebending prince but he still saved the boy. The mother could've been a little more grateful too. Would she rather her boy be sent off to war to be killed, or have a firebender save him? I'd choose the second.
Azula was a twisted sick minded little girl, wasn't she?

Spoiler code is 000033. Put that in the color code, where the color should go.
Spoiler: Wow. Just... wow.
This, this is everything I had hoped for in the second season. A darker show. I... I am close to crying tears of happiness. We learn about Zuko's tragic past, and we get confirmation that Iroh's son did in fact die at Ba Sing Se. Tragic, yes. And quite the entertaining development.
We also learned that Zhao wasn't the worst military figure in the world. Fung came close, but those 'soldiers' definitely top that. And what about the Earth Kingdom citizens? Zuko ended their tyrannical reign, only to be shunned by those he freed. That's hatred, my friends.
Oh, and how can we forget Ozai? Such clever political maneuvering, asking to have Iroh's birthright revoked after his son (and only potential heir) was killed. And then, when his offer was rejected, he found a way to falsify his father's will. Brilliant.
And, alas, poor, poor Zuko. His sob story has it a new high. His mother sacrificed her self so he wouldn't die as punishment for his father's misdeeds. Wonder if that's why Ozai hates Zuko? Or, could it have been the fact that he embarrassed him in front of Fire Lord Azulan?

Azula and her father will never learn that you can't rule an empire with fear without risking the eventual uprising and overthrowment of the ruling class.

omg! On PZFN, Kaji-waffles came up with an interesting theory. Ursa killed Azulan to keep Azulan from making Ozai kill Zuko.

I think she left because she didn't like the way the government was running. I don't think she would have her coat on if she was going to sacrifice herself or kill someone.

She left so as not to get discovered. And maybe she had the cloak on to hide herself

I don't know... those foot steps in the background sounded like the foreshadowing of an execution.

omg! On PZFN, Kaji-waffles came up with an interesting theory. Ursa killed Azulan to keep Azulan from making Ozai kill Zuko. Exactly the theory my son and I came up with after discussing this one. We begin the flashback with the mama duck biting Zuko, and Ursa explaining that a mother will do anything to defend her child. If Azula was telling Zuko the truth about Azulon forcing his less favored son Ozai to lose his only son as Iroh did, Ursa would have the motive to kill Azulon. Her last words to Zuko "Remember, what I did, I did for you," sound like a veiled confession. Then she disappears. How the heck she managed to kill Azulon is beyond my comprehension, and of course it is only a theory which could be proved wrong by more revelation, but for now it fits the known facts.
